River flooding from snowmelt and rainfall earlier this spring continued into and then ended in September due to dry conditions. The James River at the Columbia river gauge, CMBS2, was in minor flood stage (between 13 and 16 feet) for about 2 hours on the early morning of September 1st prior to falling below flood stage thereafter. It had been in flood stage since April 28th. Additionally, minor flooding (between 14 and 17 feet) persisted from September 1st through the early morning of September
