Deep low pressure moving from the middle Mississippi Valley into the Upper Midwest brought a warm front across the Mid Atlantic on the evening of March 1st. A strong cold front crossed the region during the early morning hours of March 2nd. These two systems brought heavy rain and thunderstorms to the region. |The South Branch of the Potomac River at Shepherdstown crested at 15 feet after midnight on March 2nd. A few nearby roads were flooded as a result of the heavy rain and river flooding.
