After several days of heavy rainfall from a slow moving area of low pressure, the ground was very saturated and small streams were running high. During the afternoon of Friday, June 14th, several clusters of showers and thunderstorms developed due to an upper trough over the region. These showers and thunderstorms moved across the same area of Schoharie County through the afternoon. As a result, flash flooding occurred.
