Major flooding occurred along the Whitewater river in East-Central and Southeast Indiana. The river level below Brookville lake reached its highest stage since 1968. The heavy rainfall also resulted in the lake level climbing to nearly 4 feet above the previous record pool stage. Flood stage at Brookville was 20 feet and the crest reached 21.86 feet. At least 166 homes and 13 businesses in seven counties had major damage. Numerous roads were washed out and 16 residents were evacuated.
