A series of low pressure systems that moved north along a slowly moving cold front brought heavy rain into the western half of New Jersey on September 30th and October 1st. Event precipitation totals average 3 to 7 inches. Totals were lighter along the immediate coastal counties. Several streams and rivers flooded across the area and there was also poor drainage flooding.
