An unusual southwest-moving upper disturbance triggered numerous thunderstorms across the South Plains this afternoon and evening. These storms began by mid morning in the Oklahoma Panhandle and at times were severe with very large hail and damaging winds as they moved south-southwest through the Texas Panhandle.
