On March 4-5, a front progressed slightly northward and an upper level system triggered a round of thunderstorms mainly during the afternoon and evening of March 4. The focus of the very heavy rainfall was along a 100-mile wide swath along and northwest of Interstate 44 from southwestern through central and north central Oklahoma.
