On August 10th, an intense derecho brought severe to extreme winds to much of the Midwest with winds estimated as high as 130 to 140 mph in Iowa. Central Indiana saw severe weather and flooding June 15th through the 17th. A warm front brought severe storms, tornadoes, and heavy rain on June 15th. The stalled front and upper waves brought more heavy rain and some severe storms on June 16th and 17th. The repeated rounds of heavy rain caused flooding across the area.

Several places saw damaging winds topple trees into roads, cars, and a house. The storms started to develop over White and Benton counties with a general motion to the south east. By the time the storms reached Tippecanoe county they had strengthened enough to become severe. Several trees fell over onto yards and cars.
