Continued rain, locally heavy, led to numerous urban ponding incidences within the city of Visalia. Additionally, a canal bank breached near Orosi with the excess water and runoff. Poor drainage resulted in substantial damage to homes in Visalia from flooding.

From 12 to 25 inches of snow fell over the San Bernardino mountains, from Wrightwood to Forest Falls. Over the Riverside County Mountains and the San Diego County mountains, snowfall ranged from eleven to eighteen inches.

An upper-level trough moved through the region on July 4th-6th. The trough interacted with a surge of monsoonal moisture, bringing thunderstorms to the Southern Sierra Nevada, Tehachapi Mountains and the Kern County deserts.

On the 28th, southeast winds aloft began to bring mid-level moisture from northern Mexico and the Desert Southwest. For the first time in approximately three weeks, isolated thunderstorms developed over the Sierra crest around Kings Canyon and points just to the north and east.

Heavy thunderstorm rains produced flood waters which caused damage to parts of US Highway 95 between Needles, CA and Vidal Junction, CA. Eight vehicles were stranded by flooded washes running across the highway and one car was caught in the flood waters.
