A wave of low pressure tracking close to the area on February 24th brought rain showers into southeast Ohio and northward. While the disturbance and its coinciding cold front departed the area on the 25th, flooding did not begin to take place until later that afternoon as local creeks and streams poured into the mainstem rivers.
