A broken line of thunderstorms moved rapidly east-northeastward during the early morning hours. A few damaging wind events and a weak tornado accompanied the storms. A low amplitude mid-level shortwave trough over the southern Plains ejected northeast into the Ohio Valley, providing support for the broken line of storms.
