A line of strong to marginally severe thunderstorms moved across Middle Tennessee during the afternoon and evening hours on February 17. A few reports of wind damage and flooding were received. Ahead of the line of storms, strong south winds occurred across Middle Tennessee throughout the day, with peak wind gusts measured over 50 mph in some locations.
