A low pressure system and its attendant cold front swept through West Virginia on the evening of June 8th, spreading showers and strong thunderstorms into the area. Some of these storms reached severe intensities, which resulted in numerous trees and power lines being blown down from strong winds. A few of the stronger thunderstorms also allowed for hail to fall as well as localized high water issues in Clay and Roane Counties.
