Afternoon showers and thunderstorms quickly got underway across southeast Ohio on June 16th as abnormally warm temperatures were in place. A few storms grew to become strong to severe, resulting in damaging winds that knocked down trees in the towns of Reinersville and Lower Salem. Heavy downpours were also observed within activity that afternoon, which caused flash flooding to be observed along the Duck Creek and Lower Muskingum River in Washington County.
