Jul 8, 2022
Another active monsoon day impacted northern New Mexico on July 8, 2022, as thunderstorms developed across the mountainous terrain by early afternoon and becoming more widespread through the evening. Strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall on the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar caused Tecolote Creek to exceed its banks, flooding area roadways. Meanwhile, a thunderstorm near Raton interacted with a boundary to briefly produce quarter size hail.
