As above normal moisture remained in place across northern and central New Mexico, a very active monsoon pattern persisted with numerous thunderstorms impacting the area on July 12, 2022. The Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar continued to be a magnet for heavy rainfall as an estimated 1.5 inches of rain resulted in flooding of roadways near Chacon.
