A nocturnal storm complex developed over southwest Kansas and northwest Oklahoma during the evening of the 18th moved eastward and reached the western edge of the Ozarks during the early morning of the 19th. The storm complex developed into a mesoscale convective vorticity center (MCV) and tracked northeastward across the region through the late morning and afternoon.
