A cold front encroaching the Ohio Valley on the afternoon of June 17th ran into favorable conditions for strong to severe thunderstorms thanks to abnormally warm temperatures and sufficient low level moisture. Multiple instances of downed trees were observed throughout Lawrence County in response to damaging wind gusts.
