Moist southwest flow was over northeast Florida with high pressure southeast of the region and a frontal boundary stretched across southeast Georgia. Showers and storms developed along the I-10 corridor and then moved eastward and merged with the pinned Atlantic sea breeze boundary along the I-95 corridor. Strong storms developed along the merger in the late afternoon into early evening and produced locally heavy rain, brief gusty winds from wet downbursts, and frequent lightning. Light steering
