Under a favorable easterly flow, a subtle disturbance in the upper-levels moved across southwest Arizona into southeast California, resulting in diurnally induced thunderstorm activity across the area during the early afternoon hours. High instability (SBCAPE 2000+ J/KG) and very high moisture content (PWAT 2+ inches) resulted in a favorable environment for strong thunderstorms leading to flash flooding to materialize. Flash flooding was reported along several stretches of SR-95 in La Paz County
