Hot and humid weather ahead of an approaching cold front led to heat indices reaching between 95F and 100F degrees as well as a few severe thunderstorms across eastern New York on August 30, 2022. Heat indices in excess of 95F degrees were concentrated along the Hudson River Valley. Severe thunderstorms were focused across the Upper Hudson Valley as well as southern Herkimer County.
