A mid-level trough moved over a moist conditionally unstable airmass. Thunderstorms developed along the seabreeze early in the day and moved inland to Lavaca County. Lightning from one of these storms started a fire at a storage tank battery. Later in the day a surface trough generated thunderstorms over the central part of the area. Some of these storms produced locally heavy rain that led to minor flooding.
