A decaying MCV remains over the eastern Mogollon Rim in the morning brought an area of showers and a few embedded thunderstorms remain. Otherwise, clearing skies allowed for increasing instability through the afternoon. This allowed strong thunderstorms to form that produced heavy rain and flash flooding.
