Scattered thunderstorms developed in the afternoon as a result of heating beneath an upper-level trough. Fairly steep mid-level lapse rates combined with surface heating resulted in CAPE increasing to near 1000 J/kg. Cells were generally quick-moving, but a multi-cell segment moving eastward was positioned just right such that localized flooding occurred in New Florence PA.
