As low pressure and its associated warm front moved northward into southern New England on the 20th, a low level jet helped produce heavy rainfall across the region. A cold front moved across eastern MA after midnight on the 21st, bringing an end to the rain. Rainfall amounts generally ranged from 1.5 to 3.0 inches across southern New England, except 3.0 to 4.0 inches in Rhode Island.
