Broad northwest flow aloft brought repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms to Arkansas. A stagnant weather pattern promoted water levels to rise above flood state across portion of Arkansas. Less rainfall was noted later in the month, thus all rivers fell below flood stage before May ended.
