An isolated severe thunderstorm drifted very slowly southward, then became stationary in the vicinity of Mcleansboro. Isolated wind damage was followed by flash flooding once the storm stopped moving. The storm formed ahead of a cold front that trailed southwest across central Missouri from a low pressure center over the Great Lakes.
