The combination of westerly flow aloft, moderate to strong instability and a dryline resulted in scattered severe thunderstorms across portions of west central Texas. A few the storms were supercell thunderstorms, which merged into a line of thunderstorms while moving east across the area. The severe storms produced large hail and isolated damaging winds.
