A cluster of thunderstorms moved northward into Connecticut during the morning ahead of a short-wave trough southwest of southern New England. The showers and thunderstorms spread northeastward into the early afternoon. One storm produced a lightning strike that started a house fire in northeast Massachusetts. Several roads were flooded in Worcester County.
