The wet weather pattern continued as heavy thunderstorm activity once again moved across south central Iowa. Widespread rainfall occurred over already wet soils. The heaviest totals on the morning of the 24th was a rainfall of 8.18 inches reported at the Creston Airport. Significant flooding occurred along the Thompson, Middle, and Chariton Rivers with the rivers cresting several feet above flood stage.
