A relatively small thunderstorm complex moved southeast across southern Illinois into far western Kentucky during the early morning hours. The storms occurred in association with a mesoscale convective vorticity center moving across Missouri. The storms produced another round of heavy rainfall on top of saturated ground, resulting in flooding of roads and creeks in the Mississippi River counties. A couple of lightning strikes started damaging structure fires.
