Saturated conditions from preceding storms, combined with widespread heavy rainfall of 1-2 inches over a 24 hour period, across the Susitna and Matanuska River Valleys Sept 1, 2023. These conditions and widespread, consistent rainfall pushed streams to bankfull with large swaths of the valleys experiencing minor flooding.
