Localized flash flooding was observed after thunderstorms trained over portions of western New Hampshire on the afternoon of the 4th. The airmass was anomalously moist supporting rainfall rates over 2 inches per hour. The heavy rain fell over already saturated ground conditions which resulted in rapid runoff. The storms were fairly localized which limited their impact.
