Training showers and thunderstorms developed along a slow moving frontal boundary stretching from Connecticut to Southwest Maine on the evening of the 11th. The anomalously moist airmass caused moderate to heavy widespread rain of 1 to 3 inches. A localized axis of heavy rainfall between 4 to 6 inches extended from central Massachusetts across the Stateline and into Nashua, New Hampshire. Flash flooding developed over Nashua, Hollis, and Hudson with numerous water rescues and flooded basements.
