A jet max punched over the northern Great Lakes on 10/24, helping to support multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms through the day. As the first round of storms moved east across the area through the morning, favorable warm and moist air advection helped spark a second round of storms along the existing outflow boundary from the first round. These west-east oriented storms tracked east over Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties, dropping a quick 1-2 inches of rainfall in about an hour over

Low pressure lifted across northern lower Michigan early in the morning of the 23rd. Very heavy rain fell just in advance of this low, late on the 22nd and early on the 23rd. 24 hour rainfall totals were 5.00 in Suttons Bay, 4.98 in Lake Ann, and 4.73 in Gaylord.
