An upper-level low pressure system moving across the Desert Southwest resulted in large scale forcing for ascent with highly anomalous moisture in place. This result in an area of moderate to locally heavy rain to develop over the Phoenix metro area with many areas receiving between 0.5-1. The rainfall was enough to cause Indian Bend Wash, located in Scottsdale, to reach action stage and thus cause some flooding along some low water crossings.
