Heavy rain from thunderstorms on May 6th resulted in flooding along the Big Sioux River near Castlewood starting around mid-day on May 8th. The river crested at 9.1 feet before falling later that evening. At that level the main impacts are flooding of low-lying agricultural lands, and water overtopping a culvert on 184th street.
