Heavy rainfall resulted in river flooding along the Big Sioux near Castlewood during he early morning hours of May 23rd. The river peaked at 9.22 feet above flood stage, and remained in flood through the afternoon. At that level the main impacts are flooding of low-lying agricultural lands, and water overtopping a culvert on 184th street.
