Intense thunderstorm clusters tracked north into parts of Natchitoches Parish Louisiana near an instability gradient along and northeast of a warm front that was slowly shifting northward from the coast. With precipitable water values approaching 2 inches, training thunderstorms resulted in daily rainfall amounts exceeding 4 inches in some locations with the city of Natchitoches being the primary location for urban flooding during the mid morning hours on May 13th.
