Upper level shortwave energy pushed through the region during the early morning hours of August 14, 2024, sparking a band of convection over portions of southwest Missouri. As a result, heavy rain developed, with around 5 inches of rainfall causing areal and flash flooding in Wright, Howell, Douglas, and Ozark counties.
