A cold front draped northeast to southwest over Virginia and eastern Tennessee moved south and through central North Carolina in the late evening hours. A line of scattered to numerous showers and storms tracked southeastward ahead of the front during the afternoon and evening hours. Numerous downed trees and powerlines were reported, as well as some isolated flash flooding across Wake and Durham Counties.
