Flash Flood — Dallas, MO

Jul 5, 2024

Solar heating brought increased instability to the Missouri Ozarks, with adequate moisture and upper-level energy. As an upper-level shortwave trough pushed through the area during the early morning hours of July 4, 2024, shear and instability led to scattered thunderstorms. As a result, numerous trees were reported to be either uprooted or snapped, with multiple downed power lines resulting in power outages. Heavy rainfall resulted in flash flooding in Dallas County.
