As the remnants of tropical cyclone Debby lifted into Pennsylvania, a cold front remained draped across western North Carolina. Anomalous moisture remained across the area, along with antecedent conditions being wet for early August. A scattered line of storms developed across the northwest Piedmont and produced flash flooding in Guilford County. Several reports of flooding occurred in the town of Greensboro.
