Hurricane Rafael moved northwest from the northwestern Caribbean Sea, crossing western Cuba, and continuing northwest across the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. The center of Rafael passed 125 miles southwest of Key West during the evening of November 6, 2024 as a category 2 hurricane on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.
