As a strong storm system approached, two lines of thunderstorms moved eastward through west Kentucky late on the 17th and early on the 18th. Torrential rainfall from the second line of storms produced some street flooding in Madisonville around 4 AM CST on the 18th. Previously, that line of storms produced estimated wind gusts up to 55 mph in Mayfield at 312 AM CST.
