An upper level disturbance rapidly intensified while dropping southeast from the Panhandle into North Texas Saturday morning December 28. Thunderstorms developed near and south of the DFW Metroplex in the vicinity of a surface low and Pacific front. A few storms became severe while pushing east along and south of the I-20 corridor. Heavy rain also caused flooding in a few locations.
