A well advertised surface front moved across the region, providing a focus for afternoon thunderstorm development. This front and accompanying thunderstorms moved through south central Nebraska during the evening hours, some dropping penny to quarter size hail. Along with hail, locally heavy rain fell over areas with already saturated ground from previous events. Several highways were flooded and more than 70 county roads were underwater across portions of south central Nebraska.
