A surface frontal boundary stalled out across portions of north central Kansas, providing a focus for evening thunderstorm development as an upper level disturbance moved through the Central Plains. These thunderstorms were able to tap into available deeper moisture, dropping some locally heavy rainfall. As much as 2 to 3 inches was reported across Mitchell, Obsorne, and Jewell Counties.
