April 2009 was a very wet month for much of central Indiana. As a consequence, widespread lowland flooding returned to much of the Indianapolis hydrologic service area. Frequent rains allowed lowland flooding to persist along the Wabash River in western Indiana and along the White River in southwest Indiana for more than two weeks.
