Flash Flood — Pulaski, VA

May 28, 2009

This was the third day of having a tropical air mass over the region. The two days prior to this, there had been areas that received torrential rains. On this day, the low level flow had veered more to the southwest, and a cold front was approaching from the west. Thunderstorms moved into the mountains during the evening and overnight. The high rainfall rates associated with these storms caused flash flooding.
